BuFaTa

Bundesfachschaftentagung (national conference for student councils)

https://bufata-spowi.jimdo.com/

What is it?

The BuFaTa SpoWi is a conference that takes place once a semester and involves all the student councils for sport students in Germany. It lasts four days and provides the opportunity to receive continuing education and exchange ideas in individual working groups. The conference is also a great chance to meet people and expand the great community of sport studies student councils nationwide.

The BuFaTa always provides the opportunity to split up into different working groups. These focus on both theoretical and practical sports and student council topics. The theoretical working groups focus on different aspects of student council work. Student councils can exchange ideas on a variety of topics and also discuss new ideas and challenges with each other. The practical working groups focus mainly on introducing new or particular sports activities, kinds of sports or ways of playing sports. Past examples of working groups include merchandising, sustainability, rowing, slacklining and beach volleyball.

Sportlerherz drawing

A way to do good and potentially win a lot with only a little effort. That sounds suspicious, is it for real?

Yes: each semester, the Student Council Sport Science puts on a drawing for a good cause in the university’s foyer. Our motto is: Every ticket is a two-fold winner. Each entrant not only wins a prize, but all the income from the drawing goes to the SportlerHERZ charity.

SportlerHERZ was founded by the BuFaTa Sport. Each semester, the respective working group selects three social projects to be supported by all the donations raised in Germany. The projects, suggested or even started by individual student councils, range from sports activities for refugees to excursions with children battling cancer.

Each student council collects donations during the semester by hosting a range of events in their respective university towns. In Konstanz, we collect donations through the drawing as well as the option to donate your bottle deposit (“Pfand oder Spende”) at all student council events.

SportLEBEN

is an initiative of sports students in Germany which makes it easier to recognise other sports students.

If you would like to participate, you can purchase a t-shirt or hoodie with the initiative’s logo from the Student Council Sport Science.
