Training and Movement Science: Best Poster Award

Awarded at the conference of the International Society of Posture and Gait Research in Edinburgh (Scottland).

The poster presented a project conducted by Lorenz Assländer and Markus Gruber in a collaboration with Thomas Mergner and Georg Hettich from the University Clinics Freiburg.

The study investigated the balance control mechanism of subjects without vestibular function. A control model was developed to understand how these specific subjects maintain balance. The results highlight the enormous capacity of the central nervous system to compensate such an important sensory organ.
