Social and Health Sciences: Conference in Prague, Czech Republic

Christina Niermann presented current research at the 18th Annual Conference of the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity in Prag.

At the conference, Christina Niermann took part in a symposium on ‘Electronic Ecological Momentary Assessment to measure correlates of physical activity and sedentary behavior’ (Convenor: Dr. Ann DeSmet, University of Ghent). Within this symposium, Christina Niermann presented results of an ambulatory assessment study on the association between affective states and subsequent physical activity. Furthermore, she presented two posters:

1) on the interrelation between parents’ and children’s perceptions of parental support, parents’ and children’s self-efficacy beliefs and children’s physical activity - ‘(Dis)similarity of children’s and parents’ perception of parental support and its relation to children’s physical activity: A cross-sectional study with parent-child dyads’ - which was a collaborative work with Prof. Petra Wagner, chair of the Institute of Exercise and Public Health at the University of Leipzig

2) on first results of an interactive ambulatory assessment study examining contexts and psychological correlates of prolonged sitting bouts: ‘I sit at work, because it’s what I always do – Ambulatory assessment to examine contexts and habit strength of prolonged sitting bouts’.
